With the Snom Beacon solution, Snom offersa cost-efficient and up-to-date solution for integrating professional locationand asset tracking as well asalarm systems**into any existing Snom DECT multicell system*.
The Snom M9B Beacon Gateway worksas a Bluetooth satellite that is connected to a Snom M900 base via a DECT data connection. The beacon gateway itself can either continuously transmit Bluetooth signals (TX) to scan registered devices in its vicinity or react in receive mode (RX) to signals from approaching beacons. Thanks to beamforming in the near-field range of 1-15 metres, the 4 antennas integrated in the M9B enable precise live localisation of a registered device and report this information in real time to the nearest Snom M900 base. The M9B is also compatible with many Bluetooth beacons from well-known manufacturers such as iBeacon, AltBeacon or Eddystome.
The Snom M9B Beacon Gateway can be operated both by battery and USB power adapter, making it flexible and retrofittable in almost any location.
This allows a wide variety of scenarios to be mapped, from indoor navigation, theft protection, inventory management, tracking solutions and much more. The beacons are inexpensive to purchase, can be installed with minimal effort and consume hardly any power thanks to the BLE standard (Bluetooth Low Energy). In addition, beacons do not normally interfere with existing infrastructures such as WLAN, DECT or mobile communications. Even medical devices remain undisturbed.
