Key points at a glance:
Product Description
Raspberry Pi PoE+ HAT
This PoE+ HAT module is required to make a Raspberry Pi PoE compatible. Power is supplied directly and in parallel to the data via the Ethernet cable. A separate power supply unit is therefore no longer required.
The PoE+ (Plus) module replaces the previous model, which was only "conditionally" suitable for the current Raspberry Pi 4 generation.
This is an ideal solution for embedded and IoT projects where no power socket is available or possible. From Raspberry Pi 3 model B+ onwards, an 802.3af-compliant POE injector, switch or router is required (not included), which can supply the required power for the RPi (from 3 B+ and newer) via the LAN cable
Specifications of the Raspberry Pi PoE+ HAT
- Power-over-Ethernet 802.3af specification
- Class 2 device
- Fully isolated Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS)
- 36-56V input voltage
- 5V output voltage
- 3.0A current
- Max. Power output corresponds to 15 watts
- Integrated fan control
- Integrated fan (25x25mm, "brushless")
- Plug-and-play compatibility with Raspberry Pi from 3 model B+
Important notes on use with accessories
The PoE HAT board cannot be used with a Raspberry Pi heat sink attached at the same time! Cooling is provided by the integrated fan. The PoE+ HAT no longer simply fits into the official housing like the previous "PoE HAT" model. Unfortunately, the distances to the edge of the housing are very tight here.
