The NPort® 5000AI-M12 serial device servers are designed to quickly network serial devices and provide direct access to serial devices from anywhere on the network. In addition, the NPort 5000AI-M12 is compliant with EN 50121-4 and all mandatory sections of EN 50155 relating to operating temperature, input voltage, overvoltage, ESD and vibration, making it suitable for use in rolling stock and railway stations where the operating environment is subject to high vibration.

Web-based 3-step configuration
The NPort 5000AI-M12's web-based 3-step configuration tool is simple and user-friendly. The NPort 5000AI-M12's web console guides the user through three simple configuration steps required to enable the serial-to-Ethernet application. With this quick, 3-step web-based configuration, it takes a user an average of only 30 seconds to complete the NPort settings and activate the application.

Easy troubleshooting
The NPort 5000AI-M12 device servers support SNMP, which can be used to monitor all units over Ethernet. Each device can be configured to automatically send trap messages to the SNMP manager when user-defined errors occur. For users who do not use the SNMP manager, an email notification can be sent instead. Users can define the trigger for the alerts using Moxa's Windows utility or the web console. For example, alerts can be triggered by a warm start, a cold start or a password change.
