Product Description

The Raspberry Pi 4 Model B with 4 GB of RAM
sets new standards in terms of performance, features and potential areas of application
With the Pi4, the Raspberry Pi Foundation 2019 is launching the most powerful and feature-rich single computer board on the market to date. The list of features reads like a detailed list of modern PCs.

With the real Gigabit LAN, the Raspberry Pi 4 board opens up a wealth of additional areas of application and opens up completely new possibilities, especially in the multimedia sector.

USB ports for peripherals are available in USB version 2.0 (2 pieces) and additionally version 3.0. This is particularly noticeable when connecting external hard drives.

The processor now enables the playback of 4K content, even on 2 (micro) HDMI ports! Streams can be decoded in H.264 and even H.265. Depending on the number of connected monitors (micro-HDMI adapter required!), the frame rate is up to 60 frames.

But also "old acquaintances", such as the combined jack connection, with analogue stereo audio and composite video and of course the ports for the official display or the Raspberry Pi cameras, can be used. Raspberry Pi cameras, can also be found on the board.

The GPIO interface enables the connection of previous HAT extensions and, of course, the PoE HAT Extension. The 4-pin connection for PoE power supply is also available here (PoE is an optional accessory!).
The board has remained fully HAT compatible, so the dimensions and drill holes correspond to those of the previous models.

However, as new connections and positions have been added to the ports, the previous housings can no longer be used with the RPi4. Enclosures for this model are of course available. These can be ordered in the usual colour combinations, i.e. red/white and black.

However, the new increase in performance also requires a new power supply.
Unfortunately, the MicroUSB power supply unit that was previously used can no longerbe used for this model. It is therefore necessary to purchase a USB-TYP-C power supply unit. The voltage at the USB-C plug should be 5V, the possible current 3A. We recommend using the official power supply unit to avoid problems. The plug-in power supply units are also available in the previous colours to match the housing.

Attention:
Please note that the current hardware also requires a kernel upgrade or the reinstallation of a current image! Older images that have been created for a previous model and have not been upgraded are not executable (bootable) in the new Raspberry Pi 4 board.

The Raspberry Pi 4 Model B is equipped with a Broadcom 2711, Quad-core CortexA72 64-bit SoC @ 1.5GHz.

Note on the available revision
The revision cannot be selected directly by the buyer or the dealer (vis-à-vis the Raspberry Pi Foundation). There is no entitlement to delivery of a specific revision. A previous revision does not constitute a defect in the item unless the board exhibits defects or malfunctions when using recommended accessories (including software) labelled as compatible.
