Tri-state circuit
The tri-state switch is made up of 8 individual switches, each of which has 3 switching positions (+, 0, -) per position. This allows more codes to be generated than a standard DIP switch with only 2 switching positions (on / off).

THT assembly technology
The solder pins attached to the DIP switch are inserted into contact holes on the circuit board and soldered to the underside. The switching rows are used to set configurations and change parameters.
