VARIA's ready-to-use HotSpot Systems are supposed to provide an easy starting point for those who have taken a pass on Wi-Fi networks so far because of legal reasons, or those whose existing system doesn't meet the requirements of the new Teleservices Act.

What can the HotSpot Bundle do?

It is a ready-to-use HotSpot System based on MikroTik's high-quality hard- and software. The position of the individual access points can be chosen freely. Upon delivery, the system is already preconfigured (after consultation with you). In addition, you will receive a contingent for technical support via remote maintenance in case an adaption of the system to local conditions should be necessary.

Due to the compatibility of the devices, hardware upgrades and, above all, the integration of additional access points (cascading) are not only possible but also quickly realized.

The Components

The Core

The central point and control unit is the HotSpot Controller. All settings are centrally configured and managed with it. By means of the already installed software, the wireless network of the entire system can also be controlled. A time-consuming logging into the individual access points for monitoring or configuring is therefore superfluous. All settings can be configured conveniently using the Controller Software (e.g. IP address assignments, SSID settings, DHCP configurations, etc.) - of course also encrypted and certified.

The HotSpot Controller is designed for up to 15 access points. In case more access point are used, upgrades to more powerful controllers can be done easily.

The Access Point

The access points offer the best PoE standard, both active and passive. The power supply and network connection are provided via the HotSpot Switch, which is also already configured and ready to use. The devices have suitable radiation characteristics for optimum reception in the 2.4 GHz (2x2 MIMO) and 5 GHz bands compliant with the AC standard. Furthermore, the access points can be used not only indoors, but also outdoors.

The remaining minutes can be used to have our technicians adjust the system remotely, for example, for the integration into networks with VLANs, tunnels or the integration with an existing RADIUS server.)
  

Voucher Software and HotSpot Printer (optional component)

If you want to control the use of your HotSpot System, we recommend the compatible printer package with HotSpot Printer and appropriate software. The package offers you the perfect starting point to simple "voucher printing". It doesn't matter if you want to provide your customers the desired access for one hour, one day or at a limited speed. One click, one print, one access.

By means of the convenient Windows software, accesses (vouchers) can be printed and created for your customers/guests. These can be freely configured according to your wishes. For example:

The creation of accesses can also be done in two ways:

1. Users are created and unlocked dynamically directly via the HotSpot Software and according to your specifications.
2. Our recommendation: Tariffs (or profiles and limitations) are predefined in the HotSpot Controller and "accessed" via the voucher software. Your staff then only needs to access these specifications and create the vouchers.

Are computer skills required?

No. On site, only a network infrastructure for connecting the access points must be available. The HotSpot System is already pre-configured. If you still have any technical questions or plans to modify or extend your HotSpot System, our technical support team will be happy to assist you.
