Der TL-SG3428X-UPS bietet 24x 10/100/1000 Mbps LAN-Ports. Zusätzlich sind 4x 10G SFP+ Slots verfügbar. Für das Management und die Überwachung ist es möglich, einen allgemeinen Zugang über eine Weboberfläche und Protokolle zu nutzen, z.B. CLI, SNMP, RMO, aber auch zentralisiertes Cloud-Management und Software-Controller. Der Hardware Omada Controller (OC200/OC300) wird ebenfalls unterstützt.

Im Vergleich zur klassischen Version verfügt dieser Switch zusätzlich zur Standard 230V AC Stromversorgung über eine USV-Option, d.h. Batterieanschluss (mindestens 4,5Ah) bei Ausfall der primären 230V AC Stromversorgung inklusive Batterieladung. Der Schalter kann auch angeschlossen werden, indem man die 230V AC unterbricht und den Schalter nur an eine 12V DC Quelle an den für die Batterie vorgesehenen Klemmen anschließt.
