Singlemode (SM) fibre optic launch fibre, with SC/APC connection at one end and SC/UPC connection at the other end.

The launch fibre is a special fibre that is connected in front of a measuring section in an OTDR measurement. The fibre is essential for a standard-compliant measurement and blocks out unwanted effects of the device on the measurement path. This is the only way to correctly measure the first and last connector of a section. One fibre end must be compatible with the connector of the OTDR to be used.
