With the ZigBee Cube as a supplement to your Brain Cube, you can control many devices that transmit via ZigBee, including for example the Hue family from Philips, Osram Lightify, or the IKEA Tradfri lights. Devices from Bitron Home or SCHWAIGER Home4you also use the Zigbee protocol and can be controlled with your homee thanks to the Zigbee Cube.

Like WLAN, ZigBee operates on the 2.4 GHz band. However, like Z-Wave, ZigBee supports so-called mesh networking. Here, each power-operated component functions as a kind of range amplifier.

For example, if homee cannot directly reach the lamp in the hallway because it is too far away, homee asks the living room lamp in between if it can tell the hallway light what to do. In short: more ZigBee devices provide better range and reliability!
